Duy Tan University is a multi-disciplinary and multi-sectoral university, founded on 11th November 1994 with Prime Ministerial decree 606/TTg. With its educational philosophy “To Build a Teaching and Research University on the foundations of Humanities & Innovation”, the University clearly chooses the mission, goal, vision, and model of a modern university, maximally mobilizing its internal resources, closely collaborating with domestic and foreign universities, striving to become a multi-level and multi-disciplinary university, and aiming to provide the society a workforce holding international-level diplomas.
With the above-mentioned objective, and also with the aim of meeting the need for a high-quality workforce, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences was founded on 22nd January 2007. In its initial days, the Faculty staff counted only two PhDs and eight Masters, but by now that became five PhDs, 19 Masters and one specialist, with three Subjects: Literature and Journalism, International Relations and Vietnamese Studies, and Law. The Faculty also established relations with many big domestic and foreign universities and research institutes, among them leading Vietnamese universities such as the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Hanoi National University, the Hanoi National University of Education, the Institute of Literature, the Danang University of Education, the Academy of Politics and Public Administration Region III, the Hue University of Sciences, and many prestigious universities in the United States, Thailand, Singapore, and China, for inviting lecturers, scientific research collaboration, and student exchange programs.
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences always sticks to its educational objectives, in the interest of the students’ studies and employment. Many alumni of the Faculty found a job in a variety of agencies, organizations, and businesses nationwide. All of the Faculty’s graduates satisfy the qualification requirements when finding a job, and they are especially highly regarded when it comes to practical working skills and good level in foreign languages.
FUNCTIONS AND MISSION
Duy Tan University and the Ministry of Education and Training entrusted the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences with the following functions and mission:
Teaching the three disciplines of Literature, Vietnamese Studies, and International Relations for a (regular) academic bachelor, with the following specializations:

3. INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
- Forming a high-quality workforce for the socio-economic development of Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands in particular and for the entire country in general.
- Performing scientific research and transfer practical applications.
- Compiling and publishing textbooks, and printing books for education and dissemination of knowledge.
- Training staff to meet reformation and integration requirements of the country.
- National and international collaboration in education and scientific research.
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences counts one Associate Professor, five PhDs, six research students, 19 Masters, and many visiting lecturers of domestic and international renown.

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is oriented towards constant development, building capacity, and gradual international integration. Its goal is to form a workforce of high specialization, able to better serve local and national socio-economic development in an era of reforms.
It aims to open a number of new disciplines in respond to social demand, such as Communications, Public Relations, Office Administration, and Law.
It continues expanding relations with agencies and businesses in search for internship locations, funds for scholarships, and employment opportunities for graduates.
It is striving to open the post-graduate disciplines of Literature, and Culture and Hospitality.
It internationally collaborates with several leading universities domestically and abroad, especially with many prestigious universities in the United States, China, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, and others.
